What is included in the UK customs clearance fee?
The customs broker fee covers preparing and filing the customs declaration, tariff classification of the goods, document verification, communication with HMRC, GMR (where applicable) and support in the event of an inspection. Customs charges (duty, import VAT) are separate public-law costs that are not part of the broker's fee.
Why a price range and not a fixed price?
The cost of customs clearance depends on many variables: the number of tariff line items, the complexity of the declaration, special documents (e.g. licences, certificates), the need to provide a customs guarantee (T1) and the turnaround time. A fixed price would constitute a binding commercial offer — which is why we use ranges and individual quotes. The ranges shown are indicative — an exact quote follows once documents are submitted.
